In 2014 the toy appeal raised over 30 000 worth of toys and gifts which were distributed by nspcc across wearside.

This monday 18th november 2019 sunderland s local radio station sun fm is launching it s annual christmas toy appeal. With the support help and logistics from the salvation army on wearside the aim once again is to try to make sure that each and every child receives at least one gift to open on christmas morning. Each year wearside families and businesses donate so generously to sun fm s toy appeal. Christmas truly is the season for giving so we want to do our bit by giving back to the community whilst also encouraging people to consider those that are less fortunate than themselves.
